Charter Captain

Description: Captain short (2-4hour) private charters of up to 6 passengers with one crew member.

Qualifications: Must be expert sailor, comfortable sailing, maneuvering, and docking 20-50 foot vessels in challenging conditions without error, have excellent customer relations, crew communication and leadership skills. Must be confident, friendly and outgoing, capable of conversing easily with clients.

Requirements: U.S. Coast Guard 6 Pack license or higher or be eligible to secure one prior to May 1, 2018. Knowledge of Hudson River sailing a plus.

Crew

Description: Crew short (2-4hour) private charters of up to 6 passengers. Job includes assisting the captain with sailing, attending to client needs, maintaining the boat during, before & after the sail.

Qualifications: Must be comfortable maneuvering on and around boats in all conditions, able to follow directions, have excellent communication skills and ability to intuit captain and clients needs before they are voiced. Must have excellent customer relation skills, be friendly, outgoing and capable of conversing easily with clients.

Requirements: Experience on sail boats a big plus but will consider novices with the right attitude; Service industry experience a plus.

 

Sailing Instructor

Description: Teach ASA courses (primarily ASA 101 & 103) to groups of up to 6 adults and/or private lessons.

Qualifications: Must be expert sailor, comfortable sailing, maneuvering, and docking 20-30 foot vessels in challenging conditions without error, have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable leading a group.

Requirements: U.S. Coast Guard 6 Pack license or higher or be eligible to secure one prior to May 1, 2018; teaching experience preferred, ASA experience a plus.

Fleet Manager

Description: Supervise and maintain fleet of three to six 20'-50' sailboats Responsibilities include: general engine maintenance & boat upkeep, re-fueling, miscellaneous repairs, light engine work.

Qualifications: Must have working knowledge of sailboats, attention to detail and good interpersonal and communication skills; be comfortable sailing, maneuvering, and docking 20-50 foot vessels in challenging conditions without error; be reliable, responsible and resourceful, capable of last minute problem solving and have the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Requirements: USCG license a plus

This position offers the possibility of additional work opportunities if qualified

Summer Sailing Camp Instructor

Description: Sailing Instructor for day camp. Responsible for groups of up to six kids ages 9-15. Sessions are one to two-weeks long and run from June through early Septmeber with some flexibility in the start and end dates. Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm

Qualifications: Must have teaching experience, experience working with kids, be an expert sailor, comfortable sailing, maneuvering, and docking 20-30 foot vessels in challenging conditions without error. Must have excellent leadership skills, be extremely responsible & patient, enjoy working with children, have high energy and a positive, upbeat attitude.

Requirements: U.S. Coast Guard 6 Pack License or higher or be eligible to secure one prior to May 1, 2018; CPR/First Aid certificates; teaching experience, ASA experience a plus.
