Launching Pegasus, Our New J-24

Pegasus, Our New j24, Sailing School Fleet

We recently finished restoring Pegasus, our new race ready J24. Here she is being launched into Long Island Sound.

The sail from the Sound, down the East River, and up the Hudson, was done in under six hours with the help of heavy winds and cooperative tides.

Pegasus is now here and being put to good use in our Sailing School and Summer Sailing Camp.

Atlantic Yachting was nothing short of fantastic. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great sailing experience in NYC. Their customer service was perfect, pricing was very reasonable and the experience overall was a 10. Highly recommended!

Amazing is an Understatement

L. Markowski on Trip Advisor says:

Our experience with Atlantic Yatching could not have been more perfect. The crew made sure from the moment we stepped on the boat until we pulled back into the dock that the trip was relaxing and enjoyable. We did the sail for our 5 year wedding anniversary so I brought a playlist of our favorite songs and their sound system is so great! There is no better way to see the NYC skyline. HIGHLY recommend.

Sailing with Coolhunting and Crew

CoolHunting Statue of Liberty and Instagram

Last night we took our annual sail with the team at CoolHunting. They brought along an awesome bartender from Death and Company and the folks from Macallan to serve up some fresh, nautical inspired summer cocktails. It was a gorgeous sail (see above) and a lovely evening all around.

Spend The Fourth of July Sailing

Fourth of July Sailing NYC Hudson East River

Fourth of July weekend is the perfect time to sail in Manhattan. Set sail during the day for some leisurely time in the sun – have a drink, work on your tan, and relax as you sail past the Statue of Liberty. Or head out in the evening to watch the fireworks from a perspective few ever get to see – up close and personal. Either way, you can't go wrong on the water.

We're sailing with Eataly as they arrive in New York City

Eataly Sailing New York City, Mario Batali

For the last few weeks, a crew from Eataly, the amazing Italian food emporium, has been sailing across the Atlantic Ocean with grains for their new rooftop beer garden, Birreria. They have been tracking their progress on the website of their beautiful sailboat the 7 Mosse (It helps if you can read Italian).

Tomorrow morning, Captain Oscar Farinetti, Mario Batali, and the crew of 7 Mosse will sail past the Statue of Liberty and into Chelsea Piers as they complete their Trans-Atlantic voyage.

We will be there too, proudly sailing alongside the 7 Mosse, as Eataly has selected Atlantic Yachting to escort the press and photographers documenting the journey from Italy to Manhattan.

EOS, the world's largest sailing yacht, visiting New York City

EOS Sailing Yacht, Sailboat, Barry Diller

Last night while sailing on the Hudson, we spotted Eos, the largest private sailing yacht in the world. She is slightly larger than the Maltese Falcon which we just saw over the weekend.

Eos, a three masted, Bermuda rigged schooner, was built by Lürssen of Germany in 2006, and is owned Barry Diller and Diane von Fürstenberg.

We're looking forward to seeing her under sail

The Maltese Falcon in NYC

Maltese Falcon Yacht in New York City

While sailing early last night, we spotted the Maltese Falcon (one of the most famous, expensive, and technologically sophisticated sailing yachts in the world) docked at Chelsea Piers. We sailed up right beside here for some gawking and to take some photos, and just as we were next to her, the crew came out to say hello and take some pictures of us as well. Two ships passing in the night...
